Go ahead and mark your calendars and get your wallets out for this awesome Audi event, The Audi Sportscar Experience.

On May 1, 2010 Audi is allowing a lucky few with have as much as they safely can with the Audi R8 and Audi TTS on the  track. This is event is being held in  and will only set you back $1895 for the one day program and $3495 for the two-day program.

Audi also has a “S-Program” that lets you drive the Audi S4 and Audi S5 for $1395 for one day.

For those counting the coins, there is the actual Audi Sportcar Challenge, this is only $295 and includes:

• Driving the TTS through a timed course
• Driving the R8 on the track at Infenion Raceway
• Riding in the passenger side as pro takes you for a spin in the S4

The sleek and sporty four-door coupe from Audi was spotted running laps around Nurburgring recently. The Mercedes-Benz CLS competitor is expected to make way in June 2011.

We are very excited to see this vehicle in its skin and even more excited to sit behind the wheel!

VOLKSWAGEN IS RECALLING 13,900 MY 1996-2003 AUDI A8 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 5-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE LOCKING CABLE MAY MOVE OUT OF POSITION OVER TIME. WITH THE LOCKING CABLE OUT OF POSITION, THE SHIFTER CAN BE MOVED OUT OF THE “PARK” POSITION EVEN IF THE IGNITION KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION LOCK.

THIS COULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO ROLL, CAUSING A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.

DEALERS WILL MODIFY THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOCKING CABLE BY INSTALLING AN ADJUSTING PIECE THAT WILL SECURE THE LOCKING CABLE IN PLACE.

My Audi is on the list, what to do now?

First off, don’t freak out! Owners of Audi vehicles may contact Volkswagen of America 1-800-253-2834 or wait until Audi contacts you by mail about your particular model/car notifying you to bring your car into a local deal.

This recent video taken in Puebla, Mexico shows an unknown Audi model going for a test drive. It is unclear what exactly it is, but based on size and shape it looks like it could be the new A8, or even perhaps the A7 (although it doesn’t look too CLS/coupe like). Either way it looks rather nice and hopefully we get more details on it soon. Also one thing that is interesting is where the video is shot. Puebla is home to a Volkswagen AG production facility however no Audis are manufactured there.

Sure pretty much all navigation systems now provide turn-by-turn voice commands, can point you to the nearest Starbucks, and even help you avoid traffic jams. But let’s face it, it’s not the same as communicating with an actual human passenger.

Well Audi together with MIT want to bridge the gap between robot and human when it comes to in-vehicle communication systems. AIDA or Affective, Intelligent Driving Agent is a system they developed to add a little human touch to an otherwise robotic system.

AIDA is designed to use facial simulation to effectively communicate and aid the driver. It’s obvious that you wouldn’t confuse this for a real person, but humans are able to easily understand facial-like expressions that systems like AIDA simulate.

AIDA also comes equipped with the ability to learn your driving habits such as the types of destinations you visit and when your errands are complete. The system constantly monitors the surrounding environment and will suggest alternate routes to avoid traffic and accidents.

As this technology is perfected and advances forward, we can only imagine how future communication systems will behave in vehicles. One thought would be a system that remembers your typical stops depending on the day of week, and may prompt you of your next stop/task if it appears you may have forgotten. So we were lurking around the net and look at what we found – spy shots of the Audi A1. We’ve been hearing so much news about this car around the blogs and in the forums and it’s good to finally get a glimpse of this BMW 1series or Mini Cooper competitor?!

We have posted more spy shots below that were posted by the AudiSite but we had a few questions about the Audi A1 as soon as we saw the shots!

So we are over here trying to figure out exactly who this car is going to be for. Audi already has the A3 four door hatchback and now this simply appears to be a two door hatch. Also, I am very concerned about pricing, what AREN’T you getting in this car that you may get in the Audi A3 or even the Volkswagen Golf or GTI? I am very eager to hear more features as I want to know who this car is going after. Some say the Mini Cooper, but looking at, I really don’t see that. I actually see them competing with themselves and that is never good.

What are your thoughts on these new spy shots? Do you like what you see, can you guess the pricing, is it something you will consider or will you just wait for the official release to make your decision?

Looks like Audi is still shining in this down economy. Audi today reported October sales in the U.S. of 7,358 luxury performance cars and SUVs, a result that approached the all-time October record set by the brand a year earlier. Last year’s October sales numbers were attributed to the release of the all-new A4, while October 2007 sales were blamed on when the U.S. luxury car market was nearing its sales peak in the U.S.

This year’s  bright spot in the Audi lineup is the all new Audi Q5 3.2 quattro which has exceeded sales expectations since its introduction in February 2009. Despite restricted supply, Audi reported sales of 1,238 Q5 models for the most recent month, a pace that suggests the Audi crossover remains one of the fastest turning cars on dealer lots in the U.S. Audi had a 15-days supply of unsold Q5 models in its sales pipeline at the end of October.

The beautiful Audi A5/S5 lineup continued it’s popularity run as  October sales increased 28% and year-to-date sales jumped 45.3% from the first 10 months of 2008.

The larger Q7 SUV had sales spikes as the new TDI version captured many wallets with sales increasing to 41% of all Q7 models sold during the month. That far exceeded original expectations that demand for the TDI models would equal 15-18% of Q7 sales.

With a pipeline of fresh designs(updated A6, new A8), and Audi’s attention to the growing popularity of diesel engines we’re sure to hear more about positive growth and new sales records for this brand.

It appears the new 2011 Audi A8 will suit all ends of the spectrum as spy shots were taken as it was making runs on the Nurburgring.

For the power-hungry fans out there the Audi A8 will continue to offer the W12 engine but with an additional 50 hp over its predecessor which will exceed 500 hp and growing from 6.1 liters to 6.5 liters. As fuel consumption remains a concern for even buyers of A8-level vehicles, the V8 will include a cylinder management system that could shut down up to four cylinders while still providing over 400 impressive horses.

Audi is also reportedly working on a four-cylinder 2.0-liter diesel packed with two turbos that should produce above 200 horsepower. With this array of options it looks like the A8 could have something for everyone, from the  tree-hugger who wants to ride in style to the W12 power enthusiasts.

The vehicle is expected to debut at the Detroit Auto Show this coming January, with sales beginning in late 2010.
